Gross Joins Staff as Director of Player Development

Former player Lauren Gross will join the women’s basketball staff after a standout 2023-24 season.

MONROE, La. — After a phenomenal season in the starting lineup for the Warhawks, former guard Lauren Gross will return to the bayou on the women's basketball staff, as their new director of player development.

"We are so excited to have Lauren join our staff and remain part of our Warhawk family," said head coach Missy Bilderback. "It's pretty obvious that coaching is a natural transition for LG after an impactful player career. She is extremely motivated, a natural leader, has tremendous character, and is truly a student of the game.  She was vital in helping us lay the foundation for our program last year as a player, and we are thrilled about the investment and difference she will make with our student athletes each day."

Gross joined ULM after three seasons at Southern Miss and one season at North Florida. The Southaven, Miss. native started in all 31 games for the Warhawks, averaging 30.3 minutes per game. She racked up 227 points in the 2023-24 season, shooting 34% from three-point range. In her final collegiate game, Gross posted 16 points, four rebounds, two assists and a steal vs. Troy in the WNIT Great 8.

"I am extremely grateful to have been able to end my playing career and begin my coaching career at ULM with this group of people!" said Gross. "I look forward to learning the game from a new perspective, building relationship, serving where I can, and working with an incredible group of people."

The former guard graduated from Southern Miss with her bachelor's degree in sports management in 2021 and a master's degree in the same field in 2022.
