NEW ORLEANS – ULM senior forward
Skylar Blaise was voted Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week, as selected by the league's head coaches and communications directors.
Skylar Blaise had a phenomenal week anchoring the ULM offense, posting three goals and an assist across two games to keep ULM's unbeaten conference record in play. Blaise first posted a brace in the 2-2 draw against South Alabama to keep ULM in the contest, the third of her career. She then followed things up with a three-point showing in the 3-1 victory at Southern Miss. Blaise logged an assist in the first goal for ULM, then scored her own to secure the win. Blaise leads the Sun Belt with five goals and 12 points in conference play. Overall, the forward also leads the conference with 20 points and nine goals, ranking 29
th and 14
th nationally.
This is the third player of the week recognition for the Warhawks this season, after
Libby Holmes received Defensive Player of the Week on September 9 and Blaise was named Offensive Player of the Week on September 23. The last time ULM received more than one Player of the Week honor in a single season was 2022.
Blaise becomes the first ULM player to be named Player of the Week in multiple weeks since Courtney Marten in 2021.
Blaise and the ULM soccer team will return home to Brown Stadium this weekend, taking on App State at 7 p.m. CT on Saturday (Oct. 11).
