TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The ULM women's basketball team (5-2) continue their five-game road trip this weekend as they face Alabama (9-0). Tip-off at Coleman Coliseum is scheduled for 4 p.m. CT on Sunday (Dec. 7). The Warhawks are coming off a hard-fought 66-54 loss in Starkville vs. Mississippi State.

SERIES HISTORY –Â

ULM and Alabama are set to meet for the 4th time in their histories, dating back to 1991. The Crimson Tide have won each of the previous three meetings including last year in Monroe by a score of 75-52 and the prior year in Tuscaloosa 70-54. The Warhawks will be looking for their first win against an SEC program since defeating Mississippi State 81-64 in Monroe on February 15, 1994.Â

Alabama enter Sunday's game a perfect 9-0 on the season and are receiving votes in the national AP and coaches poll. The Crimson Tide are led by the scoring duo of redshirt senior
 Jessica Timmons (15.8) and juniorÂ
Essence Cody (15.3). Both players also have an active role in an Alabama defense that ranks inside the top-20 in the country allowing only 52.8 points per game. The Crimson Tide also rank inside the top-20 in blocks at 5.6 per game and three-point shooting percentage at 37.8 percent.

The last time ULM beat a Power Four opponent was Feb. 15, 1994, when they beat the Mississippi State Bulldogs, 81-64 in Monroe. The Warhawks' Power Four opponent in their past two matchups has been Mississippi State who have won by margins of 12 points this season and by eight points last year in a 78-70 decision in Monroe.Â

DANGEROUS DEFENSE –Â

The Warhawks have shown impressive defensive consistency during the early stages of this season. ULM are fourth in the Sun Belt, allowing only 58.3 points per game. This is in large part due to the fact that the Warhawks have not allowed an opponent to shoot better than 45 percent from the field in a game this season. ULM rank inside the top 100 teams nationally in field goal percentage defense at 37 percent.Â

GOOD THINGS COME IN THREES –Â

ULM have been on quite the run from beyond the arc in recent weeks. In three of their last four games, the Warhawks have made 25 of their 55 three-point attempts which is good for 45% shooting as a team. That has allowed ULM to rise to 30th in the nation and second in the Sun Belt with a team three-point shooting percentage of 37.1%. The Warhawks knocked down eight three-pointers vs. Mississippi State which was their second-best team total of the season behind the 12 made three-pointers vs. Arkansas-Pine Bluff.Â

RELENTLESS REBOUNDING –
Graduate student
 Marcavia Shavers has continued her excellent career on the glass over the last few games. The Biloxi, Miss. native has pulled down a total of 33 rebounds over the last three games, including a season high of 12 vs. Lamar and Mississippi State. Shavers now has six games of double-digit rebounds for her career which includes a high of 20 at St. Bonaventure during her time with Saint Louis.

JACKSON WITH 25 –
Redshirt junior
 Jazmine Jackson put on a show in the win vs. Lamar on November 23, becoming the first ULM player this season to break the 20-point mark. The Jacksonville, Fla. native scored a career-high 25 points including hitting five of six attempts from beyond the arc. Jackson also put in work on the glass as she finished with four rebounds. The 25 points also moved Jackson into the lead for best single-game total by a Warhawk this season.Â

FREQUENTLY FORCING TURNOVERS –Â
Â
ULM have been prolific this season when it comes to causing their opponents to make mistakes. The Warhawks are ranked inside the top 50 in all of Division I with nearly 22 turnovers forced per game. ULM have seen two different players establish career highs for steals in a game this year. Graduate student
 Keshunti Nichols recorded four steals in the win vs. Louisiana Tech before junior
 Kamille Brown posted a career high of five steals vs. Grambling State. As a team, the Warhawks are averaging 10.3 steals per game and have seen four players record at least one game of three steals or more so far.
