Sjursen Goes Back-to-Back with Women’s Golfer of the Week Honors

Sjursen carded 10 birdies to claim the individual title at the “Mo” Morial Invitational.

NEW ORLEANS – ULM women's golfer Johanna Sjursen was voted Sun Belt Conference Women's Golfer of the Week, as selected by the league's head coaches and communications directors. She earns the honor for the second-straight week after an individual title at Texas A&M's "Mo" Morial Invitational this week.

Johanna Sjursen led the team in Bryan, Texas, shooting a 217 overall to claim a two-stroke lead and sole possession of the individual title. She recorded two even-par rounds in the process, defeating 15 players ranked players. The Warhawks, led by the senior, placed eighth among 16 teams.

Sjursen is the second ULM women's golfer to be named Player of the Week this season, the first being Tessa Ion in the fall. This is Sjursen's second Golfer of the Week recognition, earning the award last week as well. Alison Knowles last received Sun Belt honors consecutively, when the award was Golfer of the Month. No ULM player has earned Golfer of the Week recognition back-to-back.

Sjursen and the ULM women's golf team will travel to Fairhope, Alabama to compete in the Sun Belt Tournament. The Warhawks will tee off on April 20.
