MONROE, La. – Both Warhawk basketball teams will be participating in the fourth MAC-SBC Challenge, with the men's basketball team hosting Central Michigan and the women's team traveling to Ohio on November 2, in matchups jointly announced by the Mid-American Conference and Sun Belt Conference on Thursday (July 2).
The scheduling alliance will act as the season-opening game in 2026-27, with 12 SBC schools participating.
The men's basketball matchup against the Chippewas will be the second in program history, as the Warhawks defeated Central Michigan on the road in 2023 in a prior iteration of the MAC/SBC Challenge. The women's against the Bobcats will be the first series matchup in program history.
The MAC-SBC Challenge comes at the recommendation of the Sun Belt's strategic planning committees for men's and women's basketball, as the conference looks to return to its roots and bolster its success on the hardwood.
Each MAC-SBC Challenge game will be carried on an ESPN platform.
The remainder of the 2026-27 ULM basketball schedules will be announced at a later date.
