Browning (Football) Knowles (Golf) Earn Warhawk of the Week Honors

Women's Golf

MONROE, La. – Kolton Browning from the ULM football team earned Warhawk Male of the Week, while Alison Knowles from women's golf was named Warhawk Female of the Week as the duo led their respective teams with standout performances.

Browning had a stellar day in his first game back from injury, throwing for 224 yards and four touchdowns on 21-of-30 passing as the Warhawks earned a 38-10 victory over Georgia State. The senior found four different receivers for scores and also added 37 yards on 11 carries on the ground.

It was his first action since going down against Tulane on Sept. 28 and he wasted no time in working back into his groove as ULM's all-time leading passer. Browning connected with Tavarese Maye for 18 yards on just his second attempt of the night and found Rashon Ceaser in the second quarter for a game-long 34-yard connection.

The quarterback finished his night with seven completions of 15 yards or longer, the highlight coming on a 24-yard strike to Harley Scioneaux in the back of the end zone for his final touchdown toss of the night.

Despite playing in only six games this season, Browning has racked up 1,191 passing yards and 11 touchdowns and added 128 more rushing yards. His 224-yard effort on Saturday was his second-highest mark of the season; the game also marked the third time this year that the senior has tossed at least three touchdowns in a single matchup.

Knowles led the Warhawks with a 145 at the UAB Fall Beach Blast after shooting a 74 in round one and a 71 in round two. Her scores resulted in a third-place finish while competing against student-athletes from 11 other schools.

ULM finished second overall in the team standings, just four strokes behind Tulsa. The performance came after two consecutive teams wins and individual wins by Knowles.

The Mexborough, England native broke the ULM golf individual low round record at the Lady Red Wolf Classic with an eight-under par 64. The previous individual low round record for the women's team was held by Jennifer Park, who shot a 68 in the 2011 Great Smokies Intercollegiate.

The women's golf program will be back on the greens on Sunday when it travels to Mobile, Ala., for the three-day Sun Belt Conference Preview tournament.

It marked the second Warhawk of the Week accolades for both Browning and Knowles.
