HOUSTON -- The ULM men's golf team shot the lowest round of the day on Tuesday at seven strokes under par and
Louis Anceaux recorded another top-five finish at -10 overall at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic at Westwood Country Club in Houston.
The Warhawks registered rounds under par in all three rounds (-3, -3, -7) and totaled 851 strokes in the tournament. Anceaux moved up six spots in the final round after shooting a 67 (-5). He recorded a 71 (-1) in his first round Monday before signing a scorecard of 68 (-4) in his final 18 holes on the first day.
Javier Balbastre finished in the red all three of his rounds with a 71-70-69, good for a share of 12th place overall.
Rory Milne scored a 71 in his first round Monday before producing rounds of 73 and 72 in his last two rounds.
Theis Poulsen (219) and
Alston Manne (235) rounded out the scoring for the Warhawks.
Sam Houston claimed the team championship with an overall score of -27 (837). Abilene Christian secured second overall at -25 (839) while Rice placed third with -23 (841). Three golfers (Rice's Lukas Boandl, LSU's Noah Mcwilliams and Rice's Daniel Zou) finished in a three-way tie for the individual medalist. LSU's McWilliams won the individual title with a birdie on the third playoff hole.
The ULM men's golf team will finish the fall season at Everett Buick GMC Classic in Little Rock from Oct. 14-15.
