LAFAYETTE, La. – The ULM track & field team kicked off the 2024 outdoor season at the Louisiana Classic Meet on Saturday (March 16) in Lafayette.

On the women's side, the Warhawks earned 11 top-10 finishes, highlighted by
Kimone Campbell crossing the finish line first in the 1500m with a time of 4:37.52.
Sohalia Schoen recorded a personal-best time of 4:54.70 in the same event for a 10
th-place finish.
Mikayla Douglas placed fifth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:04.02 while
Claudine Raud-Gumiel took eighth in the 800m at 2:26.87. The 4x800 meter relay team brought home second place with a time of 9:23.11.

In the field events, Raud-Gumiel claimed fifth in the long jump at 5.69m and
Khrystyan Reddic brought home ninth with a leap of 5.52m.
Sydney Lake and
Brianna Washington both notched spots in the top-10 of the discus throw, and Lake was seventh in the hammer throw. Raud-Gumiel finished eighth in the high jump with a mark of 1.62m.

For the men, 15 Warhawks brought home top-10 finishes in their respective individual events.
Devin Bilbo logged a personal-best time of 14.41 in the 110m hurdles for second place, while
Darshon Turk crossed the finish line fourth at 14.58.
Santana Richardson and
Imani Coleman both ran personal-best races in the 400m with Richardson clocking a 48.12 for sixth and Coleman finishing in 48.20 for seventh.
Brandon Lewis and Jamarsha Huglon both finished in the top-10 in the 400m hurdles for ULM. Four Warhawks earned top-10 finishes in the 1500m run and two in the top three including
Juwan Blignaut finishing with a career-best 3:48.64, Carlo Martinez-Jaramillo running 3:59.22 for third,
Rojs Puks placing eighth at 4:02.95 and
Chase Gunn registering a 10
th-place finish at 4:04.48.
Brayden Ortiz rounded out the top-10 finishers in the running events with a time of 15:55.67 in the 5000m.

Bailey Couch finished second in the javelin with a throw of 62.39m while
Jona Fruchtmann and
Aiden McCrary both earned personal-best marks of 61.98m and 54.10m in their first event of the season.
Chase Rodriguez achieved a personal-best throw of 43.93m in the hammer throw for ninth place.
Joseph McEvoy took seventh in the high jump with a mark of 1.89m and 10
th in the long jump at 6.70m.
Jay Louison-Roe took 10
th in the triple jump with a leap of 13.28m. The Warhawks took second in the 4x800m relay with a result of 7:49.18.

The ULM track & field team will compete at the Keyth Talley Invitational in Baton Rouge on Saturday (March 23).
