MADISON, Miss. -- For the first time since 2021, the ULM men's golf team has advanced to match play at the Sun Belt Conference Championship after ULM finished second overall as stroke play wrapped up on Wednesday (April 24) at Annandale Golf Club in Madison, Miss.

Melan Dhaubhadel. "Our underclassman have something to look forward to, and we are looking forward to getting after it tomorrow."
The Warhawks had the lowest team score in the third round with 284 (-4) and completed the 54-hole stroke play tournament with 870 (+6) for second place. Arkansas State finished 11 strokes above the Warhawks for first with a tally of 859 (-5). Marshall and Texas State finished in a tie for third place with 877 total strokes (+13), with the Thundering Herd winning the tiebreaker over the Bobcats. Coastal Carolina totaled 879 (+15) and finished outside the top four.
Dhaubhadel and
Ylan Guerin Pozzalo both fired scores under par in the final round with Pozzalo shooting a 69 (-3) and Dhaubhadel recording a 70 (-2). Pozzalo drained five birdies and sank consecutive birdies on holes five and six. Dhaubhadel made a trio of birdies on the front nine and concluded his round with a birdie on 18. Freshman
Louis Anceaux started out of the gates on fire, and made a pair of birdies and an eagle in the first five holes. Anceaux ended his third round at 72 (E).
Theis Poulsen knocked in four birdies on the front nine but finished one stroke over par (73) in tjhe last round. Rounding out the lineup for ULM was
Mikkel Schmitt, who made one birdie in his round.
South Alabama's Hugo Thyr earned medalist honors for the second consecutive year and moved six spots up the leaderboard on Wednesday to claim the title. He defeated Arkansas State's Thomas Schmidt in a playoff to defend his title. Marshall's Ryan Bilby placed third at 213 (-3).
The Warhawks will face Marshall in the semifinals of match play tomorrow (April 25) at 7:30 a.m. and will begin on hole 10. Arkansas State and Texas State will tee off on hole one, with the winners meeting in the championship.
