MONROE, La. -- Chipper Menard becomes the second ULM pitcher to sign with a Major League Baseball team in 2024 after the left-handed pitcher inked a free agent agreement with the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday (July 18).
Menard finished his ULM career by sharing the team lead of 52 strikeouts in his final season donning a Warhawk uniform. He threw 47.0 innings and held opponents to a .210 batting average while maintaining a 4.60 ERA. In his last appearance as a Warhawk, Menard punched out a career-high 10 Arkansas State batters in 5.1 innings pitched. Menard tallied 101.1 innings pitched with 110 punchouts and an ERA of 6.00 in his two-year career at ULM.
