MONROE, La. – Third baseman
Kade Dupont was recognized on the ABCA/Rawlings All-South Region Second Team, as announced by the ABCA and Rawlings. The teams are selected by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association, with the process overseen by the ABCA NCAA Div. I All-America & Coach of the Year Committee.
Dupont becomes the first Warhawk since 2019 to be recognized on an All-Region team since 2022, when Mason Holt earned the outfield honors. The last third baseman to earn the honors for ULM was Chad Bell in 2019, Dupont becoming the third Warhawk third baseman with the recognition.
Kade Dupont posted a .365 batting average in his senior season, recording 65 hits, 15 being doubles, while driving in 34 runs. Dupont's on-base percentage of .480 leads the Sun Belt, his batting average sitting at third. After getting 22 free passes from a hit by pitch, the senior ranks second in the conference and ranks 18th nationally. He is the fifth-most difficult to strike out in the Sun Belt.
"This is a tremendous way for Kade to cap off his career," said head coach Ford Pemberton. "He sets the standard for his loyalty to ULM, how hard he played, the type of teammate he was and was a joy for us to coach. I truly believe his effect on his younger 2026 teammates will positively affect this program for the next handful of years."
With 21 multi-hit games and 11 multi-RBI games, Dupont continued to raise the bar. He was also named a semifinalist for Brooks Wallace Player of the Year. The utility player recorded five hits and two RBIs in the Ragin' Cajuns series, seven hits coming vs. James Madison. In the season finale series against Troy, Dupont recorded six hits, hitting 3-of-4 with two doubles and three RBIs on May 15.
The ABCA All-America Team was first recognized in 1949 and now spans nine divisions: NCAA Divisions I, II, and III, NAIA, NJCAA Divisions I, II, and III, the Pacific Association Division, and high school. ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams were first recognized in 2007.
