NEW ORLEANS — Freshman Garrett Wiethorn has been named to the All-Sun Belt Freshman Team, as announced by the Sun Belt Conference on May 18.
 
"Garrett got his opportunity off the bench opening weekend and never looked back," said ULM head coach Ford Pemberton. "He is the epitome of being all-in, loyal, coachable and showing unwavering determination to have success on the field. He is a great teammate and will be a staple of this lineup for the rest of his career here at ULM."
 
Garrett Wiethorn earned his starting spot early in the season, quickly making work of proving himself as a true freshman. With a .315 batting average, the outfielder has 52 hits, 28 RBIs and 37 runs scored in his first season at ULM. Wiethorn registered 13 multi-hit games and six multi-RBI games this season, eight multi-hit games coming in Sun Belt play. The outfielder went 3-for-4 against Louisiana Tech, driving in two runs. He also recorded six total hits in the series vs. James Madison, collecting five RBIs.
