Box Score RUSTON, La. – The ULM softball team (1-6) was defeated by the Arkansas Razorbacks (6-0) in the second day of the Louisiana Tech Classic. The Razorbacks got off to an early lead, with the Warhawks unable to rally, closing out the game in the sixth inning, 11-2.
Arkansas got off to a fast start in the third inning and once they got started, there was no stopping them. Two home runs, a double and a single drove home six runs in the top of the third, putting ULM at a 6-0 deficit.
Two singles in the fourth inning picked up two more runs for the Razorbacks, giving them the 8-0 advantage halfway through the contest. While the Warhawks picked up a few hits, they were unable to turn the hits into runs. Another run scored through a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning put Arkansas ahead by nine, with no sign of them stopping.

Layla Thompson and
Elle Carter scoring on the throw. With the lead cut to seven, the Warhawks headed to the sixth, where Arkansas tallied two more runs to get the score into double figures. The game came to a close after six innings, the score 11-2.
Four Warhawk pitchers saw action in the six-inning game, with
Maddie Nichols credited with the loss. Nichols pitched for two innings, posting a strikeout and allowing three hits. Thompson and both Brown sisters picked up hits in the game as well.
The Warhawks will continue with the Louisiana Tech Classic this weekend, taking on host Louisiana Tech on Saturday (Feb. 15). First pitch will take place 35 minutes after the conclusion of the previous game of the tournament. ULM will then face the Razorbacks again to close out the weekend on Sunday (Feb. 16) at 1 p.m.
