MONROE, La. – The Sun Belt has announced its annual All-Sun Belt Community Service Team following the conclusion of the 2025-26 academic year, ULM Softball's Hollie Thomas representing the Warhawks on the team. The program honors student-athletes who demonstrate exceptional dedication to community service.

Thomas, a third-year catcher for ULM, logged the most community service hours out of all Warhawk student-athletes in the 2025-26 year. Following Ice Storm Fern, Thomas, along with many of her fellow student-athletes, helped to clean up the Northeast Louisiana community, even when without power for days. She also has hosted clinics for young girls in the community. 

"There are people who give their time because they are asked, and then there are people who give because it is simply who they are. Hollie Thomas is the latter," said head softball coach Molly Fichtner. "She has an extraordinary ability to put others before herself, and she never looks for recognition in return. The time, energy and compassion she gives to others is a true reflection of the person she is. We are so proud of who she is and how she represents us, our athletic department and the university. She is truly one of a kind!"

The recognition was developed in conjunction with the Sun Belt Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) to highlight the importance of community service within the conference's mission, while continuing the celebration of the impactful contributions happening on all 14 Sun Belt campuses. The All-Sun Belt Community Service Team is an initiative aimed to recognize one student-athlete from each Sun Belt institution who has shown outstanding dedication to community service. Each school is invited to nominate one student-athlete who demonstrates excellence in community service, particularly in the leadership and execution of these efforts.
