McDade Named First Team All-Louisiana, Three Warhawks Earn Honorable Mention Honors

ULM lists four on the All-Louisiana teams for the second-straight season.

MONROE, La. — Four ULM softball players have been named to the Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) All-Louisiana teams, as announced by the LSWA on June 16. Ashanti McDade, Meagan Brown, Morgan Brown and Skylar Waggoner were each recognized, McDade earning first team recognition. This is the second consecutive season that four Warhawks are recognized, as both Brown sisters earn their second bids to All-Louisiana teams.

Ashanti McDade was named an All-Louisiana First Team selection, after earned All-Sun Belt First Team recognition at the conclusion of the regular season. She arrived in Monroe this season ready to lead the Warhawks in the circle. With a 2.21 ERA (1.70 in the Sun Belt) McDade ranked second in the league and 38th nationally. Time and time again, McDade escaped sticky situations throughout the 2026 season, claiming multiple wins when entering in relief to shut down scoring. The pitcher recorded one run in 12.1 innings against the Ragin' Cajuns, no runs in eight innings against App State and no runs in 13.1 innings at Georgia State, going on a scoreless streak of six-straight games with a 0.00 ERA. The senior was responsible for 18 of ULM's wins, including eight complete games and four shutouts. In the postseason, McDade shut out the Ragin' Cajuns yet again with a complete game and two strikeouts.

Meagan Brown earns All-Louisiana Honorable Mention recognition, honored by the LSWA for the second season in a row. The outfielder was recognized on the All-Sun Belt Second Team as well. Brown hit .322 this season, with 14 doubles and four triples under her belt. The junior recorded 11 multi-hit games and eight multi-RBI games, scoring 30 runs this season to lead the team. Her lone homer of the season came against Georgia State, the lead-off securing an early lead as she went 3-for-3 and 3-for-4 in two games against the Panthers. Brown went on to go 3-for-5 at Troy, continuously pushing the needle. The outfielder has only allowed one error on her watch in the outfield, showing her ability to play in both right and left field with a .984 fielding percentage.

Morgan Brown was named All-Louisiana Honorable Mention as she continues to represent the Warhawks at second base. Brown earns the accolade after getting recognition on the All-Sun Belt First Team for the second-straight season. She has driven in 39 runs off 60 hits, leading the team with a .351 batting average, slugging .579 with 17 doubles and six home runs. The 17 doubles led the Sun Belt. The second baseman recorded 16 multi-hit games–including five multi-double games–and 11 multi-RBI games in 2026, leading the Warhawks in both categories. She also recorded a multi-home run game for the second time in her career this season against Jacksonville State.

To round out the selections, pitcher Skylar Waggoner named to the All-Louisiana Honorable Mention team. The Warhawks have been relentless in the pitching circle, with big recognition going to Waggoner. She made a splash in her first season with ULM, with a 2.16 ERA that ranks fourth in the Sun Belt. When in SBC play, her ERA drops to 1.95, allowing a fifth-ranking batting average of .220. Waggoner struck out 104 batters this season, leading the team. The southpaw saw three scoreless outings against SBC opponents, recording three complete games and three saves. Most notably, the Jacksonville transfer was a workhorse for the Warhawks, pitching a 10-inning, one-run game against App State, a scoreless, 8.2-inning game at Troy and a complete game shutout against Southern Miss to clinch the regular season title. Her 13 strikeouts against Arkansas-Pine Bluff were among the most recorded by a league pitcher this season.
