MONROE, La. – ULM Softball associate head coach
Lea Wodach has been announced as a finalist for D1Softball's Assistant Coach of the Year award. As she enters her eighth season with the Warhawks, Wodach continues to make an impact on ULM Softball.
Wodach arrived in Monroe in 2019, working as the pitching coach for the past seven seasons and was promoted to associate head coach in 2022. In 2026, she coached the battery to the best team ERA (2.64) since 2001 as ULM earned their first-ever Sun Belt regular season title. Two pitchers in
Ashanti McDade and
Skylar Waggoner were named All-Sun Belt and All-Louisiana, the first pitchers to be named all-conference since the Warhawks joined the Sun Belt.Â
Wodach also spent this past summer working in the AUSL as a coordinator for the Oklahoma City Spark.
She is joined as a finalist by 24 other candidates, just five others coming from mid-majors. Wodach is also the lone finalist reigning from the Sun Belt Conference.
The winner of the Assistant Coach of the Year award will be announced on August 31.
