SERIES HISTORY VS. JACKSON STATE –
The Warhawks will take on the Tigers for the 15th meeting on Tuesday, hoping to beat Jackson State for the 14th-straight time. ULM holds a 14-0 record against Jackson State, the series dating back to 2006. The last meeting came in 2024, where the Warhawks defeated the Tigers, 9-0 in six innings in Monroe. The first meeting between the two teams came on Feb. 18, 2006, with ULM claiming the 6-1 win in Monroe.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS –
The Tigers are on a hot streak to open the season, undefeated after the first two weeks of play. Arkansas claimed an 11-0 win over Arlington Baptist and also defeated Mississippi Valley State 14-3. The Tigers most recently posted a 7-3 win over North Carolina A&T to improve to 7-0. Senior pitcher Sofia Gonzalez picked up her third win of the season versus NCA&T, allowing three runs and eight hits in seven innings. Jackson State is selected to finish first in the SWAC-East, with three players named to the All-SWAC First Team in shortstop Julie Lopez, third base Jace Jackson and outfielder Mari Stephens. Last season, the Tigers won the SWAC Championship and competed against LSU and California in the NCAA Regionals, falling to both teams.
WINNING AT HOME –
ULM Softball is on a three-game streak of winning in their home openers, dating back to 2022. The Warhawks hold an all-time record of 25-18-2 in their home openers, a 3-3 record in the Fichtner era. In the last three home openers, ULM has outscored their opponents 32-8, with two of those games end by a run rule.

LAST TIME OUT –
Most recently, the Warhawks went 1-3 at the Louisiana Tech Classic, falling to No. 13 Arkansas twice and splitting the series against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. Both games against Arkansas ended early, falling 2-11 in six innings on Friday (Feb. 14) and 0-10 in five innings on Sunday (Feb. 16). While host team Louisiana Tech claimed the first game on Thursday (Feb. 13), 1-3, the Warhawks bounced back and claimed a comeback win over the Bulldogs on Saturday (Feb. 15), winning 9-8 in eight innings. Two home runs by Morgan Brown and Reece Briggs brought ULM back from a 3-8 deficit, holding the Bulldogs without a score for the final four innings.
LOOKING AHEAD –
The softball team will be hosting the Warhawk Invitational this weekend, welcoming Stephen F. Austin, Houston Christian, Eastern Illinois and Southern University to Monroe.
