SAN MARCOS, Texas – The ULM tennis team (3-4, 0-1 Sun Belt) will look to bounce back in conference play as they hit the road to take on Texas State (10-3, 1-1 Sun Belt) on Friday (March 14) in San Marcos. First serve is set for 1 p.m. ULM will look to even its conference record, while Texas State will aim to defend its home court.
The Warhawks are coming off a tough 2-5 loss to Arkansas State in their Sun Belt opener at home. Despite strong performances in singles play, ULM couldn't recover after dropping the doubles point.
Mariam Hatem and
Camila Molina Barranco each secured singles wins, but Arkansas State clinched the match before the Warhawks could mount a full comeback.
Texas State is also coming off a loss, falling 0-4 to Coastal Carolina. The Bobcats struggled to find any momentum, being defeated in doubles play and dropping three straight matches in singles play.
The Warhawks travel to San Marcos to win at Texas State for the first time since 2021. The last time ULM traveled to Texas State, they fell, 2-5, in 2023. The Warhawks hold a 7-6 record against the Bobcats since joining the Sun Belt in 2006.
Following the match against Texas State, the Warhawks will stay on the road, facing the Ragin' Cajuns in an in-state rivalry game on Sunday (March 16) at 10 a.m.
