MONROE, La. – The ULM softball team (14-7) is back in action, closing out a six-game homestand against McNeese (11-9) on Tuesday (March 4) at 6 p.m. The Warhawks will then hit the road for Baton Rouge, traveling to take on No. 10 LSU on Wednesday (March 5) at 6 p.m. The game against McNeese will be streamed on ESPN+ and the LSU game will be on SEC Network+. SERIES HISTORY VS. MCNEESE–
The Warhawks will take on the Cowgirls for the 98th meeting this week, hoping to defeat McNeese in Monroe for the first time since 2023. ULM holds a 51-46 all-time record against the Cowgirls, the series dating back to 1980, ULM's initial softball season. The last meeting came in 2024, where the Warhawks defeated the Cowgirls in Lake Charles, 4-1.
SERIES HISTORY VS. LSU–
The Warhawks will take on the Tigers for the 17th meeting this weeke, hoping to defeat LSU in Baton Rouge for the first time in program history. The Tigers lead a 16-0 all-time record against the Warhawks, the series dating back to 1980. The last meeting came in 2024, where the Warhawks fell to LSU, 4-7 in Baton Rouge.
SCOUTING THE COWGIRLS –
McNeese has opened the season 11-9, most recently falling to Rutgers, 0-7 in the Jane B. Moore Memorial Tournament in Auburn, Ala.. The Cowgirls swept the Cowgirl Classic, defeating Houston and Kansas City. McNeese pitcher Ryann Schexnayder was recently named Southland Pitcher of the Week, tossing a five-inning one-hitter against Kansas City, striking out four batters and allowing on unearned run.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS –
No. 6 LSU has opened the season 18-1, most recently defeating Weber State, 9-1 in the Judi Garman Classic. The Tigers have claimed decisive wins over No. 4 UCLA, No. 17 Virginia Tech and No. 22 Northwestern. Infielder Danieca Coffeywas named SEC Player of the Week, credited with a .700 batting average, seven runs, six walks and four RBIs last week. Coffey and Sydney Berzon were both named to the USA Softball Player of the Year Watch List as well.
LAST TIME OUT –
The ULM softball team extended their win streak to 12, remaining undefeated at home through five games in the Best on the Bayou Tournament. Carys Platt hit .615 for the week, leading the team in batting average and walks (7). Platt also hit two walk-off RBI singles to deliver the wins in two-consecutive games. Morgan Brown also had a great week, tallying two homers, nine RBIs and two stolen bases. Reece Briggs also tallied two home runs, with Meagan Brown also logging one. Dakota Lake picked up two wins and a save on the week, striking out nine batters and allowing five runs. Victoria Abrams also picked up two wins, pitching six innings against Tarleton State and allowing nine hits and seven runs on the week, striking out seven batters.

TWICE AS NICE –
Meagan and Morgan Brown are a rare pair of twins playing for the same NCAA softball team. Both post batting averages of over .400 and have logged multiple doubles and home runs this season. Last week at Northwestern State, the Brown sisters hit back-to-back home runs to score the first runs of the night as the second and third batters.
LOOKING AHEAD –
The softball team will remain on the road, traveling from Baton Rouge to Florence, Ala. to compete in the UNA Tournament. The first game for the Warhawks will be Friday (March 7), taking on Samford at 1:30 p.m.
