FIRST PITCH

• The ULM baseball team continues its early-April slate with a two game home-and-home series vs. Northwestern State on Tuesday, April 8 in Monroe and Wednesday, April 9 in Natchitoches.

The Warhawks are coming off a Sun Belt Conference-series loss vs. App State, losing the first and last games of the weekend series. ULM generated 16 hits and 13 runs in its game two win versus the Mountaineers with home runs hit by Henry Garcia Jr., Angelo Aleman and Tony Lindwedel. The Demons earned a series win versus UTRGV last weekend after winning the first game and then splitting Sunday's doubleheader. 

Only a single game separates the two schools in the all-time series with NSU holding a 116-115 lead. ULM won the last matchup in 2024 with a 10-6 final, and since then has had two games postponed due to weather.

• The games will air on KMLB.com and the TuneIn app with the Voice of the Warhawks, Mike Hammett, on the call. Live streaming will be available on ESPN+ for Wednesday's game in Natchitoches.

 

• Redshirt Junior outfielder Henry Garcia Jr. leads the team with a .339 batting average and has scored 23 runs with 11 stolen bases. Bryce Blaser has a .316 batting average with nine doubles on the season. Isaiah Walker leads with 17 stolen bags with a .333 average. 

• On the mound, Sophomore RHP Daniel Gonzalez is the leading starting pitcher with an ERA of 5.25. He has a 3-1 record in 2025 with 26 strikeouts with hitters averaging .235 against him. Brennan Eager is the featured midweek starter with a 4-2 record posting a 5.48 ERA. In the bullpen, Josh Gregoire is the top performer. He has a 0.52 ERA in 17.1 innings pitched with four saves on the year along with 18 strikeouts and a .151 batting average against him.
