• The ULM baseball team begins May with a weekend series on the road in San Marcos, Texas for three games at Texas State from Friday, May 2 through Sunday, May 4.

The Warhawks have lost three straight contests which includes a midweek loss at home to Northwestern State on Tuesday. Down 8-3, ULM mounteded a comeback, and tied the game in the eighth inning before a Demons' run in the top of the ninth proved to be the game winner. The Bobcats also fell in their midweek matchup in a high-scoring 18-13 loss to UTSA.

Friday night is the 95th all-time matchup between the two schools, with Texas State holding a 55-39 lead in the series. ULM won the seires last year in Monroe, taking the first two of three contests 7-5 and 10-8 before dropping the third game, 13-11.

• ULM head coach Michael Federico is in his eighth season with the Warhawks in 2025. He has led the Warhawks to the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in three of the last six seasons that the championship was contested. He was hired as head coach at ULM prior to the 2018 season and served as the club's pitching coach from 2018-22. During the 2024 season, Federico led the Warhawks to wins over NCAA regional finalists Coastal Carolina and Southern Miss as part of their 25 win season, which was the most since 2021. Two ULM pitchers that Federico coached signed free agent contracts with Major League Baseball organizations including Parker Seay (New York Yankees) and Chipper Menard (Baltimore Orioles).

• Senior outfielder Isaiah Walker leads the team with a .345 batting average and has scored 36 runs with 22 stolen bases. Bryce Blaser has a .285 batting average with 12 doubles on the season. Henry Garcia Jr. leads with 6 home runs and 38 RBI. 

• On the mound, freshman RHP Brennan Eager is the leading starting pitcher with an ERA of 2.90. He has a 4-2 record in 2025 with 36 strikeouts. In the bullpen, Josh Gregoire is the top performer. He has a 1.21 ERA in 29.2 innings pitched with five saves on the year along with 36 strikeouts and a .175 batting average against him. 
 

RANKINGS SUMMARY

Isaiah Walker has claimed the league lead with stolen 22 bases this season and ranks 49th in the nation. Walker's 59 base hits is the fourth-highest total in the Sun Belt Conference. Walker also ranks fourth in the league with four triples while Colby Lunsford is sixth with three triples.

Josh Gregoire is one of the most dominant relief pitchers in the Sun Belt and has made five saves this year, which is tied for fifth in the SBC. Brandon Brewer has recorded three saves while Aidan Haynes, Joey Cirelli and Landon Grigg each have one save.
