ULM Men’s Golf Continues Fall Season at Bayou City Collegiate Classic

Louis Anceaux led the Warhawks, carding a 68 in the first round.

HOUSTON – Two Warhawks finished in the Top 20 at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic at Westwood Golf Club, as the men's golf team finished seventh on the leaderboard. 
 
Louis Anceaux posted a stellar first-round score of 68, scoring a 70 in the second round before finishing -6 overall to land fourth and lead the team. Anceaux also carded 15 birdies across 54 holes. Theodor Berg finished 16th on the leaderboard with a score of 216 (E), shooting three-over in the first round before progressing to an even-par second round and scoring a 69 in the final round.
 
As a team, ULM posted scores of 298-295-288 (+10, +7, E) in the three rounds, finishing seventh of 14 teams. The Warhawks continued to improve as a team, improving from 10-over in the first round to an even-par final round. Dakota Cunningham improved across the three rounds, scoring a 76 in the first and second rounds before reaching a 74 on the final 18 holes. Cunningham logged an eagle at the 18th hole of the third round, also leading the tournament with 42 par scores. Amilkar Bhana (+13) and Caden Lester (+27) rounded out the field for ULM in the tournament hosted by Rice.
 
Host team Rice claimed the win at Westwood Golf Club, with a cumulative score of -25. Houston was the only other team to have a total score under par, shooting 19-under. The Ragin' Cajuns (+2), Lamar (+10) and Abilene Christian (+13) rounded out the top five. Houston's Grant Doggett set the tournament record for score to par (-15), 54-hole score (201) and largest victory (7 strokes). Lukas Boandl of Rice followed with a second-place victory, shooting eight-under. Houston's Jayk Altic (-7) finished third, with Rice's Henry Daly, ULM's Anceaux and Ragin' Cajuns' Malan Potgieter all rounded out the top five.
 
The Warhawks will continue the fall season on October 13, traveling to Little Rock, Arkansas for the Everett Buick/GMC Collegiate, hosted by Little Rock.
