PLAYA DEL CARMEN, Mexico – The ULM men's golf team opened their spring season in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, co-hosting the Compadres Collegiate with UTRGV. ULM posted scores of 305-297-303 (+17, +9, +15) in the three rounds, finishing sixth of nine teams.
Amilkar Bhana led the team with a seventh place finish of 56 players, shooting one-over in the first round and even par in the final.
Caden Lester was the talk of the second round, shooting four under par, including a hole-in-one on the sixth hole to add an accent mark on the round. The lone Warhawk to land an eagle, Lester finished 15
th in the field, shooting eight-over across all three rounds.
Theodor Berg opened the tournament with a 75 on his scorecard, finishing overall with a 232.
Dakota Cunningham was close behind with a 235 overall, scoring three over par in the final 18 holes.
Louis Anceaux rounded things out for the Warhawks, also scoring a 235 to tie with Cunningham, scoring one-over in the second round.
Mason Comeaux, who competed as an individual, finished tied for 25
th with a total scorecard of 14-over, his best round coming on the final 18.
Co-host UTRGV claimed victory in the Compadres Collegiate, scoring a cumulative +16. North Texas (+21) and UTSA (+26) rounded out the top three. Western Carolina's Tyler Jones claimed the individual victory, scoring four-under overall–including a stellar -6 in the third round–to claim the win. Drake's Sam Johnson (-2) finished closely behind, the only other player to post a scorecard under par. Alex Huang (North Texas) and Joshua Hong (UTSA) both reached even-par scores across all three rounds.
The Warhawks will continue the 2026 season with the UTSA Spring Collegiate in San Antonio, Texas. ULM will tee off on February 23, concluding on February 24.
