MONROE, La. - The ULM baseball team (14-11) returns home to Lou St. Amant Field for a midweek contest against Northwestern State on Tuesday, Mar. 24 at 6 p.m. The Warhawks enter the game most recently losing the weekend series at South Alabama, taking losses in two of three games.

SERIES HISTORY VS. NORTHWESTERN STATE –
Tuesday's game marks the 236th all-time meeting between the two schools, as the Demons hold the slight 118-117 series advantage. The two teams played once this season, a 13-10 come from behind victory for Northwestern State. ULM last took a win in the series in 2025.

SCOUTING THE DEMONS –
Northwestern State currently holds an overall record of 15-9, with an 8-4 mark in Southland Conference play. The Demons have won eight of their last ten contests, which includes a series win over New Orleans last weekend in Natchitoches. NSU is led in hitting by Leonard Brooks who possesses a batting average of .348. Brooks also leads the team in stolen bases with 12 and on-base percentage at .448. Thomas Marsala III is also a threat in the batter's box, hitting .323 with 26 RBI and six home runs. On the mound, The Demons host a pair of arms with sub two ERA in Kevin Robinson (0.74) and Brody Trosclair (1.04).

LAST TIME OUT –
The Warhawks lost two out of three contests to South Alabama last weekend in Mobile, Ala. The Jaguars won game one with a walk-off base hit to right field after a low-scoring back and forth contest. ULM's offense found fire in game two, using nine runs scored to hold the lead and even the series with a 9-6 win.
Davis Mauzy highlighted the day going 4-6 with a double and triple. USA used 12 runs in the first three innings to take Sunday's game in a run rule.

HOT STARTS –
The Warhawks host a pair of hitters who have made their mark in the first season at ULM.
Davis Mauzy has produced a hit in all 25 games to start the season, having multi-hit games in ten of them. He also recorded his first home run of the season, a three-run blast on Tuesday, Mar. 3 against Southeastern Louisiana. Mauzy is batting a team-leading .415, has a 1.064 OPS and has 41 total hits. Danye Wray has also been a hot bat for ULM in 2026, recording a hit in all but three games. His seven home runs lead the team as he possesses a .757 slugging percentage, which ranks him third in the conference. Wray is also batting .371 and is second in RBI with 24 on the year.

FRESHMEN FOR THE FENCES –
ULM freshmen have been able to record home runs and swing for the fences across the opening 21 games. Freshman
Sutton Lewis hit two three-run homers throughout opening weekend against Central Arkansas, becoming the only freshman with multiple home runs in opening weekend in the Sun Belt. Wray then followed that up with three home runs in the series against Western Illinois, launching one in each of the three games. He also collected two bombs in the Sun Belt opening series vs. Texas State. The freshman from Smithville, Miss. leads the team in homers with seven on the season.
Garrett Wiethorn also joined in on the action, collecting two homers in game three against UT Arlington, his first two of the 2026 season.

NOT A BAD START –
Last weekend's sweep over Texas State produced some historical marks for the team through the first three games. It's the first sweep over a Sun Belt opponent since the 2024 season and the first sweep over the Bobcats since 2001. The Warhawks have also started 3-0 in conference play for the first time since the 2007 season, where they started 4-0 in Sun Belt play.
