MONROE, La. – The ULM softball team (19-16, 3-3 SBC) remains at the ULM Softball Complex to continue an eight-game homestand. The Warhawks will host Southeastern Louisiana (26-9, 9-0 SLC) on Tuesday at 5 p.m. Streaming for the game will be on ESPN+ and live stats will be available on ULMWarhawks.com/Stats.
SERIES HISTORY VS. SOUTHEASTERN –Â
The Warhawks will take on the Lions for the 78th meeting in series history, dating back to 1989. With the 42-35 edge, Southeastern looks to break the 17-17 tie when playing in Monroe. The most recent win for ULM against SLU was in Monroe in 2022, the Lions since carrying a three-game losing streak. Last season, the Warhawks took on Southeastern in Hammond, falling in a 5-2 score.Â
SCOUTING THE LIONS –
The Lions record a 26-9 record so far, with a perfect 9-0 Southland Conference record with three sweeps and a current 12-game winning streak. Notable wins include Rutgers, #5 Oregon, Georgia State, Central Arkansas, Texas State and Southern Miss. SLU holds the Southland lead in batting average (.340), ERA (1.89), hits (305) and stolen bases (82). Cydnee Schneider's 12 doubles lead the league and rank 13th nationally, while Haley Crawford holds down the circle with a 1.18 ERA. Maria Detillier, earning SLC weekly honors on March 16, leads the team with seven home runs and 30 RBIs.
LAST TIME OUT –
The Warhawks claimed their first Sun Belt series of the 2026 season in a 2-1 battle over South Alabama in Monroe. After winning Friday's pitcher's duel (2-1), ULM went on to clinch Saturday's game and the series with the same score, coming from behind in the fifth inning. The Jaguars were able to capture the series finale with a 5-1 score. Morgan Brown (5-9) claimed two doubles and drove in two runs to lead the team, Carys Platt logging a double and a triple, with Meagan Brown registering her fourth triple of the season. Ashanti McDade pitched 11.1 innings and struck out six to go 1-1, while Skylar Waggoner struck out five batters in 9.2 innings of work, posting a 1-0 record.
WARHAWK HOMESTAND –Â
ULM remains in Monroe to continue an eight-game homestand, last seeing that many consecutive games in 2024, when the Warhawks also hosted eight-straight games. The longest homestand for the Warhawks was a 12-game stretch, occurring four times in program history: 2007, 1998, 1992 and 1985.
CAREER FIRSTS –
Multiple Warhawks have collected career firsts–aside from the eight freshman logging their first collegiate outings. Olivia Faggard has recorded three doubles this season, her first hit coming against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on February 22. Hollie Thomas leads the team with five home runs this season, her first career homer coming on February 10 against Stephen F. Austin. Kennan Nunamaker's first career hit was a double to walk off a win in six innings against Lamar (Feb. 21). Freshman pitchers Abagail Creighton and Tessa Ivy each logged their first strikeouts this season, Creighton on February 22 and Ivy on February 15.
LOOKING AHEAD –
The homestand continues for the Warhawks, as ULM hosts another Sun Belt opponent in the Ragin' Cajuns. The Cajuns will compete against ULM beginning on Friday (March 27) at 6 p.m. before continuing the series on Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at noon.
