MONROE, La. - The ULM baseball team (14-12) is back on the road with a three-game weekend series in Lafayette, La. against the Ragin' Cajuns. Game one is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Friday, Mar. 27, with game two being on Saturday, Mar. 28 and game three taking place on Sunday, Mar. 29.

SERIES HISTORY VS. RAGIN' CAJUNS –
Friday's game marks the 163rd all-time meeting between the two schools, as the Cajuns control the all-time series at 105-57. The Warhawks got the better of the Cajuns in last season's series, taking two out of three games in Monroe by winning games two and three. ULM last won in Lafayette in 2022, a 7-5 victory.

SCOUTING THE RAGIN' CAJUNS –
With a record of 17-8 overall and 2-4 in Sun Belt play, the Cajuns currently stand at tenth in the conference, sitting one game behind six teams tied for fourth place. Coming off of a weekend in which they suffered a sweep against Texas State, they rebounded by picking up a 9-3 win at home vs. Southeastern Louisiana Tuesday evening. The team is led in hitting by Colt Brown with a batting average of .322. Brown also leads in doubles (9) and total hits (29). Lee Amedee is also a team leader with 20 runs scored, 17 walks drawn and two triples. On the mound, Sawyer Pruitt possesses an ERA of 1.42 over 38.0 inning pitches with 41 strikeouts and six earned runs allowed all year.

LAST TIME OUT –
The Warhawks lost its midweek contest Tuesday night against Northwestern State in a 5-0 shutout which saw the team only record three total hits all game. It was the first shutout suffered by the team all season and the first time they have been held to under three runs. The Demons took control of the game with a three-run inning at the top of the third.

HOT STARTS –
The Warhawks host a pair of hitters who have made their mark in the first season at ULM. Davis Mauzy has produced a hit in 25 of 26 games to start the season, having multi-hit games in ten of them. He also recorded his first home run of the season, a three-run blast on Tuesday, Mar. 3 against Southeastern Louisiana. Mauzy is batting a team-leading .398, has a 1.026 OPS and has 41 total hits. Danye Wray has also been a hot bat for ULM in 2026, recording a hit in all but three games played. His seven home runs lead the team as he possesses a .753 slugging percentage, which ranks him third in the conference. Wray is also batting .370 and is second in RBI with 24 on the year.

FRESHMEN FOR THE FENCES –
ULM freshmen have been able to record home runs and swing for the fences across the opening 21 games. Freshman Sutton Lewis hit two three-run homers throughout opening weekend against Central Arkansas, becoming the only freshman with multiple home runs in opening weekend in the Sun Belt. Wray then followed that up with three home runs in the series against Western Illinois, launching one in each of the three games. He also collected two bombs in the Sun Belt opening series vs. Texas State. The freshman from Smithville, Miss. leads the team in homers with seven on the season. Garrett Wiethorn also joined in on the action, collecting two homers in game three against UT Arlington, his first two of the 2026 season.

NOT A BAD START –
Last weekend's sweep over Texas State produced some historical marks for the team through the first three games. It's the first sweep over a Sun Belt opponent since the 2024 season and the first sweep over the Bobcats since 2001. The Warhawks have also started 3-0 in conference play for the first time since the 2007 season, where they started 4-0 in Sun Belt play.
