NEW ORLEANS -- ULM softball outfielders
Lourdes Bacon and
Meagan Brown collected 2024 All-Louisiana Collegiate Softball Honorable Mention accolades following a statewide vote from the Louisiana Sportswriters Association.
Bacon, a senior from San Antonio, Texas, led the Warhawks with a .389 batting average, 70 hits, 40 runs and 25 stolen bases in her final season on the diamond. She ended the season second in the Sun Belt in stolen bases, third in total hits and fifth in batting average, picking up All-Sun Belt Conference Second Team recognition. In conference play, she ranked tied for sixth with 31 hits and tied for fifth with seven stolen bases.
Brown had a sensational freshman season and was one of the top freshman hitters in the SBC. The Katy, Texas, native started in 52 of 54 games in her first season with ULM softball, leading the Warhawks in slugging percentage, OBP, OPS, doubles, triples and home runs. She posted a batting average of .367, which led all freshmen in the league.
Bacon and Brown are the first two Warhawk softball players to earn All-Louisiana honors since 2022 when
Kennedy Johnson was named Second-Team All-Louisiana at utility and
Alexis Chavez was named to the Honorable Mention team.
