The Trojans hold a 21-13 record this season, going 3-3 in Sun Belt play so far. Most recently, Troy hosted No. 25 Auburn at home, falling 5-12. Troy did clinch their conference-opening series against Coastal Carolina, claiming games two and three, outscoring the Chanticleers 17-5 combined. LAST TIME OUT –
ULM went 1-2 on the road against the Ragin' Cajuns, first falling in a walk-off victory for Lafayette on Friday, 5-3. The Warhawks got off to an early lead, with three homers scoring three runs for ULM. After Maddie Nichols held the home team to a scoreless six innings, a three-RBI double in the bottom of the seventh tied it up and sent the contest to extra innings. As the Warhawks were unable to find a score in the eighth, the Ragin' Cajuns hit a two-run homer to walk off ULM with the win.
On Saturday, ULM found the early 2-0 lead yet again, scoring in the first inning to start hot. But the Ragin' Cajuns also had hot bats in game two, scoring four runs in the first inning and did not let up. The Warhawks found another score in the sixth, but the damage had been done, clinching the series for the Cajuns with a 9-3 win.
On Sunday, the Warhawks were ready to bounce back, scoring in the top of the first yet again for the 1-0 lead. The home team picked up four runs in the third, creating another deficit for ULM. A walk by Nichols and a single by Meagan Brown scored three runs, tying things up at four runs each. While the home team found the 5-4 lead in the fourth, a four-run sixth inning for ULM secured the Sunday victory. Another single and an error, this time by Morgan Brown, scored three runs for the lead. An RBI single by Reece Briggs extended the lead to three, with two more RBI singles in the seventh–by Meagan Brown and Hollie Thomas–held the decisive 10-5 lead for ULM. The Cajuns allowed the most hits they have all season in the win for the Warhawks.
HAVING FUN AT HOME –
