NEW ORLEANS – ULM freshman jumper Gionni Wiltz was voted Sun Belt Men's Field Athlete of the Week, selected by the league's coaches and communications directors.
 
A native of Slidell, La., Wiltz was the highlight of the weekend for the Warhawks, posting a first-place finish at the Wooo Pig Classic with a 2.15m mark in the high jump on Saturday.
 
Along with being his personal best, the result ranked first in the conference performance list and tied for fourth on the NCAA South Central Regional list. It continues a three-meet streak with a podium finish to start his ULM career.
 
Wiltz and the Warhawks are back in action this weekend in Nashville for the Vanderbilt Music City Challenge from Friday, Feb. 13, through Saturday, Feb. 14.
