The Warhawks compete a four-game home stretch Tuesday night.

MONROE, La. - The ULM baseball team (18-15) ends a four-game home stand with a midweek matchup vs. Mississippi Valley State. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Lou St. Amant Field.

SERIES HISTORY VS. MISSISSIPPI VALLEY STATE –
Tuesday game marks the tenth game in the series, as the Warhawks have won the first nine. The two schools last faced off in 2011 in a two-game series that the Warhawks swept with scores of 5-4 and 11-7. The last eight games of the series have been played in Monroe, with the first game occurring at Itta Bena, Miss.

SCOUTING THE DELTA DEVILS –
Mississippi Valley State currently holds an overall record of 10-18 with a 6-6 mark in SWAC play. After starting conference play 0-6, it has won its past six conference matchups with sweeps over Alabama A&M and Alcorn State. The Delta Devils stand at sixth place out of 12 teams in the SWAC standings. Leading the team in hitting is Kendall Brookins, who carries a batting average of .338 and has stolen seven bases. Cody Leming leads the team in doubles with six and has scored 21 runs on the year.

LAST TIME OUT –
The Warhawks host a three-game series with Georgia State, which the Panthers took two out of three games. Thursday's game went into extra innings, with the away team scoring three runs in the top of the 13th to seal the win. Friday featured a late doubleheader, with the first game also going into extra innings. Garrett Wiethorn hit the walk-off double at the bottom of the 12th inning to even the series. Georgia State controlled the pace in the rubber matching by wining in a 12-3 rout. Marcus Aranda made his mark on the weekend by homering twice in the first two games.

HOT BATS –
The Warhawks host a group of hitters who have made their mark in the first season at ULM. Davis Mauzy has produced a hit in 31 of 33 games in the season, having multi-hit games in 12 of them. He also recorded a home run in Lafayette, a three-run blast in game one against the Ragin' Cajuns. Mauzy is batting .368 and has 49 total hits. Danye Wray has also been a hot bat for ULM in 2026, recording a hit in all but six games played. His eight home runs lead the team as he possesses a .625 slugging percentage, which ranks him ninth in the conference. Wray is also batting .317 and has 27 RBI. Aranda collected two home runs last weekend, bringing his total to seven on the season. He had a stretch of three games, homering in all three of them from last week vs. Louisiana Tech through game two of the Georgia State series.

FRESHMEN FOR THE FENCES –
ULM freshmen have been able to record home runs and swing for the fences across the opening 33 games. Freshman Sutton Lewis hit two three-run homers throughout opening weekend against Central Arkansas, becoming the only freshman with multiple home runs in opening weekend in the Sun Belt. Wray then followed that up with three home runs in the series against Western Illinois, launching one in each of the three games. He also collected two bombs in the Sun Belt opening series vs. Texas State. The freshman from Smithville, Miss. leads the team in homers with eight on the season. Garrett Wiethorn also joined in on the action, collecting two homers in game three against UT Arlington, his first two of the 2026 season.

NOT A BAD START –
The team's sweep over Texas State produced some historical marks for the team through the first three games. It's the first sweep over a Sun Belt opponent since the 2024 season and the first sweep over the Bobcats since 2001. The Warhawks have also started 3-0 in conference play for the first time since the 2007 season, where they started 4-0 in Sun Belt play. The team is currently tied for second in the conference standing with a 7-5 conference record.

EXTRA INNING WARFARE -
ULM and Georgia State started the series last weekend with two extra inning thrillers. The Panthers won game one at the top of the 13th, as a single and a double plated three runs, giving them the 10-7 win. The Warhawks returned the favor in game two, ending a 9-9 deadlock with a Wiethorn double into right field which scored Jackson Landry. Both games marked the first pair of extra-inning games played for ULM in 2026.
