Tate Quick on the Oval, Bohack Strong on the Diamond to Earn Warhawk of the Week

Track & Field

MONROE, La. – Career performances on the oval and the diamond earned Andrew Tate from ULM track & field and Faith Bohack from ULM softball Warhawk Male and Female of the Week honors, respectively, announced Tuesday.

Tate came 0.07 seconds away from breaking a school record in the 400m on Saturday at the NSU Leon Johnson Invitational. He flew around the track at a personal-record pace of 46.42 to earn first-place in the race.

The Schertz, Texas product neared the school-record of 46.35 set in 2001 by Dee Dee Overton. He also shattered his previous personal-record of 47.52 set earlier this season.

Tate's time is the fastest in the Sun Belt Conference in the 400m this season. He now ranks 14th on the NCAA East Regional Qualifying list and 24th in the nation.

On the diamond, Bohack lifted the Warhawks to their 28th win on the season and their 10th Sun Belt wins in the series finale with Georgia State.

The Warhawks picked up three wins last week to bring their win total to the most wins since the 2011 season when the program won 32 games as well as tying the record for most Sun Belt wins in a single season set in 2011.

In Wednesday's outing versus Northwestern State, Bohack delivered a RBI single to help propelled the Warhawks to a 3-1 victory over the Lady Demons, snapping their seven-game win streak.

In the series opener with the Panthers, the junior accounted for all the Warhawk runs knocking her a two-RBI homer, her sixth on the season, but it was her career performance in the series finale the led the Warhawks to victory.

Bohack went 2-for-4 with a home run and double with both hits racking up three RBI each. The six-RBI outing set a career high for the junior bested her previous outing of five runs driven in set against Morehead State on Feb. 7, 2014.

It's the most RBI in a single game for a Warhawk since senior Alexis Cacioppo drove home six at UL-Lafayette on May 2, 2014.

The Conroe, Texas native brings her season RBI total to 43 to place fifth on the single-season record and is just four RBI shy of setting a new single-season record for the program.

Tate and Bohack both picked up their second Warhawk of the Week awards this season.
